Dr. James Coyne
Dr. James Coyne is Professor of Health Psychology at University Medical Center, Groningen, the Netherlands where he teaches scientific writing and critical thinking. He is also Visiting Professor, Institute for Health, Health Care Policy & Aging Research, Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. Dr. Coyne is Emeritus Professor of Psychology in Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was also Director of Behavioral Oncology, Abramson Cancer Center, and Senior Fellow Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics. Dr. Coyne has written over 400 papers and chapters, and was recently designated one of the 200 most eminent psychologists of the second half of the 20th century.
Dr. Gary Birnbaum
Dr. Gary Birnbaum is a practitioner at Bay West Family Healthcare in San Francisco, California, where he specializes in Family Health care and Geriatrics. He is board-certified in Family Medicine, with additional certification in geriatrics. Dr. Birnbaum went to New York University School of Medicine and trained in Family Medicine at Brookdale hospital in Brooklyn, New York. He completed his residency at San Francisco General hospital, where he was Chief Resident in family medicine. Dr. Birnbaum has been clinical faculty at University of California San Francisco since completing his residency, and has been in practice for more than twenty years.
Dr. Clint Potter
Dr. Clint Potter was the Medical Director at Naples Advanced Individualized Medicine (AIM) in Naples, Florida. In 1990, Dr. Potter completed his medical residency at University of California, San Francisco. From 1990-2009 Doctor Potter had his private Family Medicine practice in California before moving on to a position as an attending Emergency Specialist as St Luke’s Hospital, San Francisco, University of California, San Francisco and Stanford Medical. After his return to Florida in 2010, Doctor Potter was a practicing physician at the Neighborhood Health Clinic. Dr. Potter’s work through AIM maintained a vision for quality of life through holistic, individualized care for unique health needs. Dr. Potter passed away in August 2022 and we were honored to have had him serve with us at BackShield.
